This lesson explores the move toward Progressivism during the late 19th and early twentieth century in the United States. Students will explore a series of prompts that highlight the dangerous working conditions that led to the horrific Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire. This tragedy and its aftermath prompted New York to adopt safety regulations, workers rights and unionization.
